Guru Medha Hari

Medha, one of the senior disciples of Smt. Anitha Guha is currently training under renowned dancer and choreographer Smt. Priyadarsini Govind. With over 25 years of experience, she has matured into one of the most promising dancers of her generation, performing in premier institutions in India and abroad. Her notable achievements include – ‘Kala Ratna’ from the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival (U.S.A),  ‘Outstanding Dancer’ (2024), ‘Best Individual Performer’ (2017), and ‘Gutti Vasu Memorial Prize (2013) from the Music Academy Madras, ‘Narasimhachari and Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhachari Endowment Award’ from Natyarangam, Natya Chudar from Kartik Fine Arts, Natana Bhava Padmam from Brahma Gana Sabha, ‘Lakshmi Vishwanathan Endowment’ from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, ‘Singar Mani’ from Sur Singar Samsad to name a few.  She is also an impaneled artiste with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and a B Graded artiste with the Doordarshan, Kendra. 

 

Teaching has been Medha’s way of not just sharing, but her chance to reexamine and introspect on her learnings. She believes in nurturing curious dancers by encouraging them to think independently and approach dance with mindful practice. She also believes teaching is her way of giving back to her school and her community which have been such an intrinsic part of her growth and support system.

Orchestra

Taniya Panda - Vocal

Taniya Panda began her training in the Carnatic style of Indian classical music in Toronto, Canada from Smt. Vijayalakshmi Seenivasagam. In her early teens, she moved to Chennai, India to take more intensive training from the acclaimed Veena Vidushi Smt. Padmavathy Ananthagopalan.

 

 Taniya is also an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer having undergone training with Guru A. Lakshmanaswamy. She has performed solo, duet, and group productions in India, Canada, and the US both as a dancer and supporting vocalist. She is currently continuing her vocal training with Kyvalya Chilla (Secunderabad). She is based in Marietta, Ga where she is a homemaker and runs behind her two children. And when she isn’t singing or running in circles, she performs Bharatanatyam duets with her husband!

Visveshwar N - Flute

Visveshwar N is a renowned flautist who carries the prestigious A-grade rating from AIR radio, one of the youngest ever to receive this honor. Now residing in New Jersey, his music has resonated across the globe. Visveshwar began his musical journey at just nine years old.

 

Over the past 17 years, he has presented over 1,200 concerts, with his music transcending borders and styles. His repertoire spans a wide range, from traditional Carnatic concerts to Bollywood music for weddings. He has supported dance productions and performed in Indian Jazz fusion music at international festivals with his band.

His early training and inspiration were from his grandfather, Singanallur Ramaraja Iyer. His exceptional talent was recognized early when he was awarded the "Best Instrumentalist Prize" by the esteemed Madras Music Academy at the age of 14. His career is marked by numerous prestigious titles, including "Venu Gana Rathna", "Venu Ilamamani", "Vamshi Kaladhara", and "Bala Kala Rathna". In recognition of his remarkable abilities, he was granted a cultural scholarship by the government. 

Aside from his musical endeavors, Visveshwar is also an alumnus of Cornell University and currently serves as a cloud product manager.

Anand Krishnan - Violin

Anand Krishnan started learning violin at the age of 8 and is now under the tutelage of renowned violinist Shri Srikanth Mallajosyula of Maryland. He has given several solo performances, and vocal accompaniments across the USA such as CAMAGA GCD, Atlanta, and numerous performances in Georgia and other nearby states. He has won several prizes including the regional and national Saptami Instrumental Competitions. Anand has recently graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

G Raamshankar Babu - Mridangam

Shri. Raamshankar Babu is a renowned Mridangam artiste with a rich and illustrious career. Certified with a ‘Vadya Visharada’ diploma in Mridangam from Tamilnadu Govt. Music College, Adyar, Chennai, under the tutelage of Mridangam lecturer Shri. V. P. Ramadhas, he has also honed his skills under the guidance of Shri. N. Govindarajan, a distinguished Ghatam Vidhwan.

 

Recognized for his talent, he was awarded the Government of India’s scholarship from the Department of Culture for advanced training in Mridangam (2000-2001). Throughout his career, he has garnered accolades including the 'Sathya Laya Jaala Sundaram' award from Smt. Anitha Guha’s Bharathanjali School of Dance (2007) and the Endowment Prize 'Sruthi Laya Kendra' from Guru Karaikudi R Mani.

 

His contributions have been celebrated with the 'Mithra Bandham' award by Divyanjali during their Silver Jubilee Celebrations in February 2020. Notably, he has accompanied numerous leading Bharatha Natyam, Kuchipudi artistes, and renowned vocal-instrumental musicians both in India and abroad
